How does a student apply for the RSP Tuition Break?

When filling out a college's application for admission, a student must declare an approved Tuition Break major or degree program offered by that college and indicate, "applying for NEBHE RSP Tuition Break." Some college applications include a check-box for a student  to indicate he/she is applying for RSP status.

There is no additional or separate application for the RSP Tuition Break program.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  For some programs, students will not be RSP Tuition Break-eligible until they are sophomores or juniors; however they should still apply for RSP Tuition Break status on their admissions applications. Check the online Annual Catalog or Database for details on each program.

How is a student accepted as an RSP student?

The college or university notifies a student of acceptance through the RSP at the time of acceptance to the college.

Can a student transfer into an RSP Tuition Break major?

A student wishing to transfer from another institution applies for admission as indicated above. Certain academic programs have restrictions, which usually are noted in the RSP Tuition Break catalog.

If applying for transfer within the same college, an enrolled student needs to contact the registrar and/or the college's RSP representative (see catalog for list) to check on transfer eligibility. Certain academic programs have restrictions, which usually are noted in the RSP Tuition Break catalog.
