The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) invites you to attend the 2013 New England Campus Sustainability Forum (NECSF) co-organized by AASHE, Clean Air-Cool Planet, the Colleges of the Fenway, GreenerU, the Northeast Campus Sustainability Consortium and Second Nature. The forum is designed to foster conversation and linkages among campus stakeholders (administrators, staff, faculty and students) to provide new insights for initiating campus sustainability programs. This year's forum will focus on Climate Change & New England Campuses: Impacts and Solutions, with workshops covering topics such as:

  • Climate Impact Planning
  • Finance
  • Change-Agents
  • Marketing and Communications.

 

Keynote speakers include:

  • Mary Powell, CEO, Green Mountain Power (confirmed)
  • Beverly Wright, professor of sociology and founding director of the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice (invited).

 

The closing plenary panel will address How Colleges and Universities Can Make Themselves and Their Communities More Equipped for the "New Normal.”

The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) is reviewing nominations for its 12th annual New England Higher Education Excellence Awards. Four regional awards and six state merit awards will be presented to the recipients on the evening of Friday, March 7, 2014 in Boston, Mass.

Four regional awards will be presented to individuals and organizations from higher education, government and business sectors that exemplify excellence in higher education in one or more of the following areas: leadership, innovation, diversity, partnerships and collaborations or educational opportunity.

In addition, there will be six state merit awards—one in each of the New England states—presented to an individual, program, organization, institution or business for exemplifying, through their work, excellence in promoting college readiness and success for the students of New England.
