DMDP Project Descriptions
Describes how community colleges and systems participating in DMDP will use Khan Academy. Note: A number of colleges will finalize their implementation plans by fall 2013.
DMDP Khan Academy User Guide, Version 1.4 (updated June 2013)
The DMDP Khan Academy User Guide provides guidance and resources for participating math departments and faculty as well as other staff. The Guide will be updated periodically as more resources become available and more features or changes are incorporated into the Khan Academy web platform.
Project Implementation Coaches
Tim O’Connor provides support to the Community College of Vermont and the Community College System of New Hampshire in using Khan Academy. Tim has 30 years of teaching experience at the elementary through graduate level. Since 1989 he has been a part-time Instructor at the Community College of Vermont and has instructional design experience with Khan Academy, Moodle and Blackboard. Peter Mili is the Implementation Coach for the Community College of Rhode Island, Housatonic, Manchester, Middlesex and Norwalk Community College in Connecticut and Middlesex and Mt. Wachusett in Massachusetts. Peter has over 35 years of math teaching experience from pre-Algebra to Calculus and has served as an adjunct at Framingham State University and UMass Boston. Curricular Alignment
Alignment Maps were developed for use by faculty to integrate Khan Academy into pre-matriculation activities such as Accuplacer Prep, Developmental Math and Technical Courses. In addition to Khan Academy’s videos and practice sets, some of the maps include the Common Core.
