New RIC Prez Named, ASA’s Combe Stepping Down

Frank D. Sánchez

Frank D. Sánchez, vice chancellor for student affairs at the City University of New York (CUNY), was named the next president of Rhode Island College, succeeding Nancy Carriuolo, who is stepping down May 21. Clark Green, the college’s interim vice president for advancement, will serve as interim president.

Danielle N. Ripich will step down as president of the University of New England on June 30, 2017. Under Ripich’s leadership, the university launched the College of Pharmacy, College of Dental Medicine and the online College of Graduate and Professional Studies. Enrollment grew from 4,000 to more than 10,000 students.

American Student Assistance President and CEO Paul Combe will step down after 20 years, effective July 15, to be succeeded by John Zurick, who has been ASA executive vice president and president of ASA’s consumer literacy program “SALT.”

Ohio Northern University marketing professor and associate dean, Robert E. Kleine III, was named dean of the Western New England University College of Business, effective July 1.

Amherst College Senior Associate Dean of Admission Dale R. Hendricks was named director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
