The Governor of Rhode Island proposed appropriations for public higher education totaling $932,884,178. This broken down to $637,149,130 appropriated to the University of Rhode Island, $154,697,677 appropriated to Rhode Island College, and $130,399,824 appropriated to the Community College of Rhode Island.

The University of Rhode Island saw the Governor propose a 4.8% increase of $29,529,510 from FY10 to FY11. They also saw a 6.6% increase of $37,895,700 from FY09 to FY10. The University of Rhode Island had a 11.8% increase in allocation to them from FY09 to FY11

The Rhode Island College had a similar increase in their allocations. From FY09 to FY10 they saw a 7.7% increase of $10,518,276 and from FY10 to FY11 a 4.9% increase of $7,239,884.

The Community College of Rhode Island actually saw a decrease of .9% in its allocation in the FY11 by $1,188,187. However FY10 saw a 5.9% increase of $7,368,022 from FY09’s allocation.
