On Friday, March 2, 2012, the New England Board of Higher Education hosted a presentation by Blair Levin, Executive Director of Gig.U. Invited attendees included Chief Information Officers from area higher education institutions and municipalities, as well as regional leaders in broadband initiatives and economic development. From the discussion, it was clear that developing a collaborative approach to building and upgrading broadband offerings in New England is a high priority from higher education and municipal communities. Moving forward, the New England Board of Higher Education seeks to support higher education institutions and surrounding communities in exploring broadband technology and network development.
