Professional & Curriculum Development

NEBHE is proud to provide professional development programs and access to leading-edge curricula for secondary teachers and the faculty of community and state colleges and universities. Our programs generally focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields in an effort to support the growth and competitiveness of New England's technical workforce.

NEBHE's PBL Projects are a series of STEM problem based learning (PBL) curriculum and professional development projects funded by the National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education program. Each of the PBL Projects has developed a collection of authentic real world multimedia case studies called Challenges with industry partners in the areas of advanced manufacturing (AM PBL, 2012-2015) sustainable technologies (STEM PBL, 2009-2012) and optics and photonics (PHOTON PBL, 2006-2009).
