Q: What are the Colleges of the Fenway?
A: A neighborhood of six colleges: Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Simmons, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Wheelock College, all located adjacent to each other in downtown Boston and surrounded by the beautiful Emerald Necklace. This unique environment fosters a collaborative relationship between these distinctly different schools.
Q: Is parking provided?
A: We strongly encourage participants to car pool, bicycle, or use mass transit to the event. A limited amount of spaces will be provided at (Lot) on a first come first serve basis. Additional for pay parking is offered around the Fenway, see map available in the Logistics and Location page for details.
Q: Is the event handicap accessible?
A: Yes – all of the spaces are fully handicap accessible.
Q: Will there be a lot of walking?
A: The session rooms are located in buildings on three different campuses. The rooms are a short 5-10 minute walk between each other. Please wear walking shoes and enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful urban Colleges of the Fenway environment!
Q: What if I am unable to walk between the different buildings?
A: Please contact us (chanel.l@greeneru.com) in advance so that assistance can be arranged.
Q: Will refreshments be provided throughout the day?
A: Yes – a light breakfast and a lunch, with beverages through-out the day. Bring your own reusable mug to help us save water and detergent! Please include any dietary restrictions when you register.
Q: What are the optional events?
A: The optional events include a guided tour of Frederick Law Olmstead’s Emerald Necklace and the Muddy River restoration project being supported by faculty, staff and students from the Colleges of the Fenway. The tour and the pub visit both offer additional opportunities for casual networking while enjoying the beautiful and unique area of this dynamic neighborhood.
