Lash has been president of the environmental think tank World Resources Institute since 1993. From 1993 to 1999, he was co-chair of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, the group of government, business, labor, civil rights and environmental leaders appointed by President Clinton to develop strategies to promote sustainable development. Lash also held posts as director of Vermont Law School’s Environmental Law Center, Vermont Secretary of Natural Resources, and Vermont Commissioner of Environmental Conservation.</p>

<p>Unity College trustees <a href="http://www.unity.edu/pressearch/updates.aspx" target="_blank">named</a> <strong>Stephen Mulkey</strong>, director of the Program in Environmental Science at the  University of Idaho, to be the next president of the small environmental college in Maine, beginning in July. Mulkey will succeed Mitchell Thomashow.</p>
