NEBHE launched the first phase of its college-completion project, New England 2025.

Supported with a Lumina Foundation grant and the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems, NEBHE's Department of Policy and Research built a series of state-level "dashboards" and models that can examine college completion and various metrics with new levels of sophistication.

These models allow decision-makers and users to take otherwise complex sets of data and formulas and test various scenarios to better understand the realities around raising degree attainment in each of the New England states.

Coupled with these models, NEBHE has also developed a college-completion "toolkit," which can produce the models, additional reading and information on college completion, and state-level summaries of college completion that can give the reader an "under two minute" briefing on the state of college attainment in the region.

All the material is available online at http://www.nebhe.org/policy-research/new-england-2025/.

NEBHE will present two webinars demonstrating new Student Flow Degree Attainment Projection Models that could help the states develop plans for increasing postsecondary attainment.

The models created by the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS) on behalf of NEBHE's New England 2025 project provide an important framework, conceptual model and statistical tool for estimating the impact of policy changes on degree attainment, benchmarked to national goals and other indicators.

NEBHE's New England 2025 project is focused on helping the six New England states develop and execute effective strategies to increase postsecondary attainment, particularly for low-income and minority populations, over the next 15 years.

These webinars will provide a sneak peek at how the projection models can help a state maintain and improve degree attainment.

Patrick Kelly, director of NCHEMS National Information Center, will conduct a live demonstration of the models. NEBHE will also outline the process by which organizations in New England can apply to obtain and use the models.

Direct RSVPs and questions to Matt Crellin, NEBHE's director of Policy and Research, at mcrellin@nebhe.org, or call 617.357.9620 ext. 130.

The webinars will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 1 p.m. EST, and Monday, July 19, at 2 p.m. EST at www.nebhe.org/ne2025. (Note: The content of the two webinars is the same; you may choose to attend the one that is most convenient for you.)
