Having worked for many years at Massachusetts community colleges, I have been consistently frustrated with the federal and state governments&#039; focus on graduation rates at community colleges and not student persistence. In my experience, the traditional full time student population at community colleges has become if not a minority population, close to it. U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan&#039;s more realistic approach should be applauded.]]></description>
