What is Tuition Break?

NEBHE’s Tuition Break program, the New England Regional Student Program (RSP), provides significant tuition savings to residents of the six New England states when they enroll at out-of-state public colleges and universities within New England and pursue approved programs.

Eligibility for the RSP Tuition Break varies by state and by institution.

More than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate degree programs are offered through Tuition Break by New England’s public colleges and universities.

Programs are offered in all fields of study, and many of them high-demand and specialized.

Millions of Dollars in Tuition Savings Every Year

 

Tuition Break has provided New England residents savings on more than 324,000 annual tuition bills, with total savings well into the billions of dollars, since established in 1957.

In the 2021-22 academic year, Tuition Break saved more than 9,100 New England residents saved an estimated $64.8 million.

A full-time Tuition Break student received an average tuition break of $8,600.
