Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) President Larry Isaak announced he’ll retire as MHEC president, effective Nov. 16, 2018, after nearly 15 years as the compact’s president. Before joining MHEC, Isaak was the chancellor of the North Dakota University System for 10 years.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy named Greenwich corporate attorney Thomas E. Kruger to be the next chair of the University of Connecticut’s governing board, succeeding Larry McHugh as chair.

The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) elected University of Rochester Associate Vice President for Online Learning Eric E. Fredericksen will be the new president of its board, succeeding Marie Cini, former provost at the University of Maryland University College.

The Rhode Island Commerce Corporation announced that President and CEO Darin Early will leave the post he has held for nearly three years. Rhode Island Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor announced he’d appoint Jesse Saglio, head of the Commerce Corporation’s investment team, to lead the agency.

UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Robert E. Johnson appointed Donna Lisker, former Smith College dean of the college and previous Duke University associate vice provost, to be his chief of staff.

Bates College announced Malcolm S. Hill, former chair of the Department of Biology at the University of Richmond, will become vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Bates, effective July 1, 2018.
